How the age is calculated
The calculator compares the date of birth with the chosen "as of" date and subtracts the birth year, month, and day from the reference date. It adjusts for months with different lengths and leap years so the result in years, months, and days is exact. If the "as of" date is before the date of birth, you'll see a friendly error message instead of a result.
